Alchemical Transformations

By investigating the mechanisms of visual perception, I aim to create abstract images capable of synthesizing, through aesthetic balance, the essence of the Universe of which we are a part.

My photographic research into the geometries of Nature, in which I collect and then reassemble fragments of the plant, animal, and mineral worlds, brings me closer to the realm of spirituality; in their forms, I see the expression of an intelligence that surpasses us.

My abstract works embody what I might call the "alchemical transformation" of the physical structure of natural elements. It is a journey from the material to the immaterial, a sublimation of matter to spirit.

Capturing and modifying, in this process, the forms of nature reminds me of the work of the alchemist, who symbolically aspires to change the state of matter through the use of magic.

There is also a strong reference to the spiritual dimension of Buddhist mandalas, in which the geometric figure constructed for ritual purposes is not simply a representative or symbolic design, but rather a place created by the meditator where he contemplates the deities who have taken up residence there after his invocation.

With my images, I aim to create meditative spaces where we can journey with our eyes and mind into the sacred mystery hidden in the elements of nature and within ourselves.

The image, understood as a visual stimulus for meditation, increasingly pushes me toward abstraction because the alienating effect it creates, along with the mystery of its forms, amplifies the sense of wonder we experience when we contemplate something we apparently do not know; we are intrigued and drawn to its revelation through ever-new aspects as we gradually discover shapes and textures we had previously missed or only intuited, as if the meditative effect were never-ending.

My research also focuses on colors, whose energy resonates deeply with our emotions; This is why, with my works, I aim to foster serenity and a positive state of mind in those who view them.

With some images, I also wanted to create suggestions of interior spaces that, stimulating the viewer's imagination, freely recall, by analogy, the sacred symbols of different cultures and eras.
